I was thinking of Magic Sam the other day, a great blues artist from Chicago. I was fortunate to see him perform live in Copenhagen just a couple of months before he passed away in 1969. Sam Maghett moved to Chicago in 1950. Next year will see the first President of the USA coming from Chicago - it appears he will have a lot to fix.
One of my favourite Farm Security Administration photographers is Russell Lee. In the archives of the Library of Congress you will find thousands of images by this photographer. I was looking for pictures from Chicago and a few of them are displayed here.
