In the "middle of nowhere"...

This is a sad story...like any other sad stories in the world (so many)...!
I was in a documentary trip in Cuba, I met these two old ladies in Trinidad/Cuba. They barely noticed me when I was making photos...they continued their lives as usually....in that "middle of nowhere" place....!

I was trying to find the place again next day but like a miracle it disappeared....Everything was like a dream....if I would not have the pictures I would say it was an illusion...to remind me that I have to look around and see....

This story is not one that will characterize Cuba, I would say that people are poor but they are smiling and I have seen many old people most of the time somebody around to take care of them...but...there are unfortunately places like this...

Tatiana - I was thinking while setting up your strong reportage about the other pictures of women (Self-portraits made by women and the Mexican women in Glove) By some coincidence they all tell stories about women, so different...still so important. Many thanks for sharing these pictures. You must have a heart of stone not to be touched by them.
