Els Balcans 10 anys després

Marga Fonts and Oriol Ferrer sends a reminder of a European tragedy, the war on the Balcans. The pictures are impressions of what Oriol and Marga - two young photographers from Catalunya experienced during a visit to the Balcans in the beginning of this century.

Marga y Oriol says: "La complexa historia de la península balcànica va crear un clima d'hostilitat i desconfiança entre les diferents comunitats ètniques i religioses de la zona.

Passats 10 anys, després de la mort del dictador Tito,les comunitats que formaven l'antiga Iugoslàvia es van enfrontar en una cruenta guerra civil que va començar al 1991 i va durar fins el 2001."

The complex history of the Balkan peninsula has created a climate of hostility and mistrust between different ethnic and religious communities in the area. After 10 years, after the death of the dictator Tito, the communities that made up the former Yugoslavia also met in a bloody civil war that began in 1991 and lasted until 2001.
