Venice carnival










The Venice Carnival starts around two weeks before Ash Wednesday and ends on Shrove Tuesday (Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras. The Carnival has its origins in the mid to late 1100’s though it was not until 1268 when the event had grown and masks first made an appearance.
