It is a priviligue to be able to show this photo portraying the Mexican maestro Alvarez Bravo. Graciela and her gallery in Mexico City have been kind to digitalize it and to grant permission to make it a part of the 591 Summer Exhibition. It is the first time this portrait is shown on the net. I am looking at the way Bravo holds his hands with full attention on the act of photographing. It is a beautiful and intimate portrait. - Mr Urbano
Manuel Alvarez Bravo and Graciela Iturbide are both winners of the prestigious Hasselblad Award (1984 and 2008) You may read about both photographers on the site of the Hasselblad foundation. Also visit the site of Gáleria López Quiroga.
