Ya callate!

These images are taken from the flipbook Will You Shut Up! (Ya callate! in Spanish). I made this with a former student (Alicia Resendiz) in answer to a social programme by the local authorities and the metro lines initiative to support reading by giving away books passengers could read in-between stations and get them back to the stands built for this purpose.

Needless to say, these books were taken away and never returned. It is also at call for people to just shut up in one of the filthiest transportation systems I have knowledge of, filled up with pirate CDs and DVDs shouting sellers, beggars and small-time crooks the police and other authorities "pay no attetion" to them by keep making the Mexico City underground one of the most dangerous in the world.
