Photographer of the Week - János Vachter

János Vachter
I was born 35 years ago in Dunaújváros, Hungary. I have taken photographs for 10 years. Initially I used digital cameras, but then shortly I turned towards analogue techniques. Today the archaic, experimental and alternative techniques provide a transparent means for self-expression. My artistic view has been shaped mainly by the ambiance of industrial outskirts, time-worn, abandoned surroundings, railway side-tracks etc. In my pictures I record leisurely, dreamlike visions, and aim to explore the still, inner occurrences of the subjects. A friend says of me that I usually press the button only after all others have already put away their cameras.
