Manipulated photos

Many Swedish photographers and people interested in photography are chocked, confused, upset learning that one of Sweden's most respected Nature photographers has manipulated pictures from his recent work about the lynx.

It is obviously a personal tragedy and I can just hope that the photographer will find a solution and come out of this crisis.

But the story raises many principal questions about photography. How far can you go in manipulating a picture? The new applications for smartphones etc provide you with a lot of possibilities, altering digital color photos to Black and White is widely accepted, various dark room techniques may result in a picture very different from the negative.

I feel a bit lost in all this and it would be interesting to hear from you out there.

Also have a look at this story where an Orthodox Jewish Paper digitally removed Hillary Clinton from a picture.
