Dear Rachel

This week I learned that my dear friend Rachel Zane passed away.

Here's a photo of Rachel and me taken in 1991.
We have been close friends for over 30 years
and I consider her my "adopted Grandma".

Here's Rachel just last year in Tucson, Arizona, at age 97 ...
still lucid, still loving, still wise, and still giving me advice.
After I heard the news of her death, I took an evening stroll with my camera.
Rachel and her husband Jerry encouraged my work in photography.
I noticed this brilliant light on a wet sidewalk,
that Rachel could no longer see.

Beautiful tribute to someone who has been so important to you ... As we remember those who are gone, will continue to live in our hearts and in our memories .. A greeting. Helen

A fine tribute - there is so much to learn from elderly people if you take your time to listen
