Exchange of presents

The sea was visiting the land
A short exchange
Presents were given:
A garland of seashells
A necklace of seaweed
A pattern in the sand.
The land gives presents in return
The river hands over:
plastic bottles, plastic bags,
strings and broken puppets
phosphates and many more chemicals.
On the occasion of the next visit
the sea gives most of  the presents
back
