Odes about common things

Photo Alf Jagnell

The Chilean poet Pablo Neruda praised common things like onions, apples, books, wine but also "time", "sea" and so on in his Odas Elementales.

Cebolla,
luminosa redoma,
pétalo a pétalo
se formó tu hermosura,
escamas de cristal te acrecentaron
y en el secreto de la tierra oscura
se redondeó tu vientre de rocío.

...

Onion,
luminous flask,
your beauty formed
petal by petal,
crystal scales expanded you
and in the secrecy of the dark earth
your belly grew round with dew.
...

I really love those pieces by Neruda and wouldn't it be great to, inspired by them, make something here on 591? So please don't hold back. Send me your "Odes about common things" in pictures. You know where to find me or read the "About" section.
