First Day of Awe

Happy New Year!  I'm beginning my annual photo ritual of one image per Day of Awe, during the 10 days between Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year) and Yom Kippur (The Day of Atonement), to notice something awesome in everyday life.

First Day of Awe:  Early this morning I stopped by Food 4 Less to pick up some goodies for parent volunteers and staff at my school.  I met Naser, and found out that he is from Moracco, and can speak Moroccan, Arabic, French, English ... and he's learning Spanish.  A Muslim and a Jew meeting on Rosh Hashanah in the Hispanic food isle at Food 4 Less in Salem, Oregon.  A God Bless America moment!
