Bernd Morlock

"I love working not, no one does,
but I love what's in the work - the chance to find yourself"
Joseph Conrad
(1857-1922)

Bernd Morlock  "stories smith"

In the Atelier of Bernd Morlock the atmosphere is dominated by static figures, inspired by the style of the archaic cultures of Europe and Central Asia.

Intervening centuries-old oak beams from demolished houses, rusty iron unearthed in fields and river beds, finds long past.

From old steel blades are molded in the fire, knives objects, just as mental as technical development of daily studio work.

And again the spinning wheel without beginning or end. Unlike almost any other symbol wheel, circle and ring stand for the aspect of impermanence, the fleeting moment.

Birth, aging and death, crime and re-emergence as only superficially different manifestations of an eternal dynamic process - this issue determined in many forms of life and work of the designer.
