Rogerline Johnson (1927 - 1996)

This morning my students read a story about a photographer by the name of Rogerline Johnson. He was a teacher for many years but left teaching to pursue a career as a photographer. In the 1950's and 1960's he took pictures in and around the Arkansas Delta area. He did not become rich or famous. He was just one man trying to make a difference. His family is carrying on his legacy by maintaining the portrait shop he opened in Helena, Arkansas. His sons are photographers and still document the lives of the people in the Arkansas Delta.  -R
