War Photographers
Zapping through the channels of my TV set, tonight, I came across a replica of a documentary film that I never heard nor seen about. "War Photographer" was produced in 2001 by Christian Frei and is about life and works of the american photographer James Nachtwey.
Beside the dramatic action images shown, one of the things that made me firmly sit on my chair was listening the photographer's opinion about the level of empathy that a journalist should employ in the people and the events he has to report.
"Why photograph war? Is it possible to put an end to human behavior which has existed throughout history by means of photography? The proportions of that notion seem ridiculously out of balance yet that very idea has motivated me." - James Nachtwey
