"Blybarnen" a documentary

The documentary is about a Swedish company Boliden that in 1984 dumped poisionos waste containing lead (Pb), arsenic (As), cadmium (Cd) etc. in Arica, Chile. It was a business deal between Boliden and a Chilean company called Promel. It was approved by the authorities in Chile (keep in mind that Chile was ruled by general Agosto Pinochet)

The waste was never processed, it was just left on Cerro Chuño where many houses were built some years later. The children living there played around on the hill and soon they started to show symptoms of grave intoxication. It is a terrible story. I watched it on Swedish TV yesterday and the young film makers Lars Edman och William Johansson have done an excellent job.
