Saint Lucia 1950

Saint Lucia, 1950 photographer unknown

Her name means lux, lucis "light" - she is the saint of those who are blind.
I have always loved the symbolism of Saint Lucia, a Christian martyr who is one of the few saints celebrated in Sweden and Scandinavia (Dec 13). My sister is seen as Saint Lucia in this picture taken around 1950.
